AI began in 1956 with ideas of an artificial intelligence going even more back then. Their design was originally only intended to think, learn, and solve like humans. Such as solving complex problems, understanding different languages to even making logical decisions. By the late 1960s to early 70’s Harold Cohen created a program called AARON around 1973. This program involved an AI generated original artwork on its own and by 2020 other programs like DALL•E and Midjourney, these AI’s could generate many styles of art such as realism, paintings and even abstract art by learning from huge image datasets. As AI advanced more, directors and developers became more aware of these new AI tools and would eventually scrap the idea of commissioning artists because it would cost money and now that there was websites that were free and dedicated to creating art this would cause problems to people’s careers. This eventually leads to criticism on the internet to these developers who use AI art and people who use AI art claiming they are artists. This issue of AI taking artist’s jobs does matter because AI is taking away creative thinking from people and also taking many artist’s jobs away, making people not being able to pay for food or even rent. AI copies based on what you show it. And the difference between AI and people is that unlike AI, people can have different ideas and creative thinking. So in conclusion this is why you shouldn't use AI generated art when you could either learn on your own or commission someone who is actually more creative and professional at art.
