"Forever Stuck" by Alex

I made this piece to represent how we can get stuck in systems if we never question things. Each pedestal had a fish that was once in a bowl, but then it broke and the fish died. Each fish never broke free from the bowl and lived in it their whole life. I used this as a metaphor to represent us as a society. We live in systems established long before us. These systems could be outdated and flawed, but they became the norm and so we never questioned. But if we never question, we will end up like the fish, waiting for fate take us. The void below each pedestal represents the unknown. The fish could've tried to escape the town and went into the unknown. And while sure, the unknown may be scary, but it could have unlimited possibilities. My main goal with this art is to encourage you to question things. As stated in one of my favorite songs from Hadestown, "And no answer will be heard, to the question no-one ask!"
