"Liberty being silenced." by Diana Plata

The personification of lady liberty is being silenced in my art piece, I wanted to reflect the recent developments happening in my state of North Carolina; particularly the gerrymandering and silencing of youth between an HBCU and a Liberal Art campus. The media hasn’t covered nor reached out to local city officials on the problem, this problem doesn’t extent to North Carolina, nearby states are also implementing similar measures. The censorship and narrative shared in the media are controlled by corporate interest.
